Premier League clubs have already spent approximately £800m on new signings already this summer, and we’ve still got a week of July still to run.
Given the lucrative TV deals these days, clubs have more money in the bank than ever before and can shell out on bigger and better players.
We take a look at every club’s record signing with 10 clubs already bringing in their most expensive ever recruit this summer.
Bournemouth - Nathan Ake, £20m from Chelsea
Nathan Ake caught the eye during a laon spell at Bournemouth last season before being recalled by Chelsea for the arduous run-in.
Antonio Conte deemed Ake surplus to requirements and Bournemouth were happy to part ways with a club-record fee to bring him back to the south coast.
Brighton - Mathew Ryan, £5.1m from Valencia
Brighton knew they needed to heavily bolster the squad if they wanted to improve their chances of avoiding relegation, but were dealt a blow when David Stockdale left on a free transfer.
Chris Hughton moved quickly to bring in Australia international Mathew Ryan in from Valencia to add a stable pair of hands in goal.
Burnley - Robbie Brady, £13m from Norwich
The Irish international joined Burnley during the January transfer window for £13m, breaking their transfer record, which was held by Jeff Hendrick.
He had a slow start at Turf Moor, taking his time to adjust to Premier League football again. However, as the season went on, he showed signs of being money well spent, including a brilliant free-kick against Chelsea.
Chelsea - Alvaro Morata, £70m from Real Madrid
Chelsea had their hearts set on bringing Romelu Lukaku back from Everton but Manchester United pipped them to the Belgian.
Antonio Conte reassessed his options and parted ways with £70m in order to bring in Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
Crystal Palace - Christian Benteke, £27m from Liverpool
Benteke struggled for form and goals at Liverpool but the quality was there to prompt Crystal Palace into shelling out £27m for the Belgian.
While the Eagles narrowly avoided relegation, Benteke did deliver on his price tag, with 15 league goals during his first season at Selhurst Park.
Everton - Jordan Pickford, £30m from Sunderland
Everton have been one of the Premier League’s biggest spenders this summer, the biggest being a club-record move for Jordan Pickford.
Regarded as one of the best young goalkeepers in the game, Everton are hopeful that Pickford can cement his place at Goodison for the next decade.
Huddersfield - Steve Mounie, £11m from Montpellier
Huddersfield were the winners of the richest game in football when they beat Reading in the Championship play-off final.
Eager to improve their attack, they’ve parted ways with £11m to bring in Mounie from Ligue 1 side Montpellier after he netted 15 goals last season.
Leicester - Islam Slimani, £29m from Sporting Lisbon
Slimani had an incredible record in Portugal which prompted Leicester to spend £29m on the Algerian.
He’s still trying to find his feet in the Premier League, with Leicester reverting to a similar system that found them success last season. He recorded just seven league goals in his debut season.
Liverpool - Mohamed Salah, £37m from Roma
Liverpool wanted to add another pacey winger to their attack and moved quickly to bring in Salah from Roma.
A more savvy and confident player than the one we saw at Chelsea, Salah is expected to have a very good debut season at Anfield tormenting defences.
Manchester City - Bernardo Silva, £60m from Monaco
Joined for an initial £43m, which could rise up to £60m, the deal to sign Silva could eclipse the £54m deal that saw Kevin De Bruyne join from Wolfsburg.
Silva shined in the AS Monaco side that won the French league this year and reached the latter stages of the Champions League.
He was linked with Chelsea and Manchester United but decided to opt for City.
Manchester United - Paul Pogba, £89m from Juventus
Pogba completed his much-anticipated return to Manchester United last summer for a world-record fee of £89m.
While many were expecting Pogba to be a regular goalscorer, the Frenchman has been more involved in the build up to goals with his expansive passing and robust style on show this term.
He has helped United to win the League Cup and Europa League in his first season back at Old Trafford.
Newcastle - Michael Owen, £16m from Real Madrid
It may surprise some fans to hear that Newcastle have not broken their transfer record since 2005 when they signed Owen from Real Madrid.
With Liverpool also interested at the time, Newcastle coughed up £16m to sign the England international.
He would go on to spend four years at St James’ Park before joining Manchester United in 2009.
Southampton - Manolo Gabbiadini, £17m from Napoli
With Claude Puel’s Southampton struggling to find the back of the net throughout the season, the Saints shelled out £17m on Napoli striker Gabbiadini.
The Italian made an instant impact with six goals in four games, including a well-taken finish in the League Cup final at Wembley.
Tottenham - Moussa Sissoko, £30m from Newcastle
A big deadline day signing last summer, Moussa Sissoko hasn’t had a great time of it at Tottenham so far.
Struggling for form, Sissoko finds himself on the bench more often than not and Spurs could look to offload him just a year on after signing him.
Watford - Isaac Success, £12.75m from Granada
Success was been touted as a star in the making prior to his move to Watford but he’s not really hit the ground running.
Hampered by hamstring injuries, Success has been limited to just two starts all season and just one goal to his name so far, but his best years are ahead of him.
West Ham - Marko Arnautovic, £24m from Stoke
West Ham wanted to add a dynamic winger to their ranks and identified Marko Arnautovic early on.
The powerful Austrian is the second time the Hammers have broken their transfer record in as many summer windows and more spending is yet to come.
