One of the accepted parts of modern football that we are always talking about is the future of managers.
The way of the world is that one bad run can be enough to get a manager the sack and even though the season is coming to an end, there are still a few managers that are on the hot seat.
We’ve taken a look at the men who could find themselves out of a job in the near future:
Claudio Ranieri
Claudio Ranieri is the odds on favourite to lose his job, which is crazy to think after last season’s amazing success. If Sevilla hand them a heavy beating in the Champions League, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him leave in the next day or two.
Arsene Wenger
Arsenal likely won’t sack Arsene Wenger, they’d politely ask him to leave at the end of the season if they feel like they want to make a change. He has done too much for that club to be sacked.
David Moyes
Sunderland’s move is often to sack managers around this time and hope to catch lightning in a bottle. Moyes should be worried.
Aitor Karanka
Although they’re going well in the FA Cup, Aitor Karanka’s Middlesbrough side haven’t won a league game since December. The cup run might keep him in the job but an exit from that competition could see him sacked.
Sam Allardyce
He’s not been in the job long but a lot of Crystal Palace fans are unhappy with Sam Allardyce. He’s known as the man to keep struggling clubs up but Eagles fans are seemingly losing patience with him already.
Slaven Bilic
Slaven Bilic’s job is more secure now that it was a few weeks ago but he’s not completely safe at this point.
Walter Mazzarri
Are Watford the most forgettable club in the league? I’d argue yes. Walter Mazzarri is doing a decent job but Watford
Eddie Howe
Bournemouth are sneakily in a bit of trouble. Whether they’d sack Howe is doubtful having invested so much in him.
Claude Puel
If not for the EFL Cup run, Claude Puel would probably be under more pressure. Southampton have been poor this season. After Sunday’s final, it wouldn’t be a huge shock if he left if a few results went against the Saints.
Pep Guardiola
Man City shouldn’t sack Pep Guardiola, he’s been brought in to chang a culture. Having said that, if they do go out of the Champions League and have a bad run, it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility.
